A Day In The Life Of An E2E Learner

Hi my name is Kate Potterton-Hall, I am 17. I am currently an E2E student at Hill Holt Wood.

I find this a very good opportunity if you want to know more about nature! You get more skills through Hill Holt Wood then you would just being out on the streets, this isn’t just no boring old wood you come to where you can’t learn anything, you can!!

On the 26/03/09, I had an amazing day. First lesson I had been in the green hut that is like a little classroom with Holly Young (a senior ranger) looking on the computer to buy land and make a eco village, this gives you the chance to know how easy it is buying a particular sized land you might want and how big you would be able to build your eco village depending on the acres of your land.

Second lesson I had been in the classroom that is in the main building which is next to the office. I was doing a bit of maths with James Hay-Barr, a qualified math teacher, he teaches you at the level you need to be taught at depending on the grade you are working towards! With me I am working towards a level 1.

My final third lesson of the day was working on the new build that we are currently building. I think it is going to be our new offices. On the build you can do all sorts of different jobs e.g. plastering, wood work, using hammers & nails etc. You may think that most things on a build are hard to work at but here it all comes easy.

Thank you all for reading this, I’m sure I’ve filled you in with what usually goes on here, if this is your kind of thing get involved and don’t give up, as again, many thanks.

Kate
