Everyone entering Hill Holt Wood finds themselves enveloped by the sights and sounds of nature. That’s why we often take a camera with us when we are out and about.

Here are a few of the things that we’ve found in the last few weeks. Click on the pictures to make them bigger.

Hill Holt Wood is a small (34 acre) woodland operating as an environmental social enterprise and controlled by a voluntary board of directors representing local communities and councils as well as local and national businesses.

At Hill Holt Wood we approach the management of the woodland in a traditional sense, as a habitat to be conserved but we also look to the future and utilise the natural resources to achieve employment, education and training goals. Hill Holt Wood is a centre for learning for a diverse range of learners of all ages and abilities.

Have you seen?

16 April, 2009 (15:23) | Around the wood | By: Ranger Team

Hill Holt Wood recently found itself on national television. Viewers of the BBC program “In Search of England’s Green and Pleasant Land” will have seen Benjamin Zephaniah talking about his vision of countryside communities and visiting the wood.

For those of you who missed it, the BBC i-player can be found here and is available to view until 20th April.

Meanwhile there’s always something to see at the wood and today was no exception. Oscar can never be accused of being camera shy!
