The Architectural design practice was established in 2009 by two architectural graduates from De-Montford University. The students, Sam Brown and Tom Morgan, approached Hill Holt Wood aiming to take a concept design into reality. In response Hill Holt Wood challenged the two students to work on site and achieve the feat for themselves.
From this inception the design team was established as a 12 month internship for graduating students. Each year a new team run the design team while aiming to strengthen and establish the projects further. The design team is now in its third year, with its third pair of graduates at the helm.

The team are fundamentally grounded in true sustainable design and specialise in alternative construction methods. The practice has a mixture of clients from local authorities, schools, small businesses and private clients and undertakes work ranging from domestic new-builds to specialist commercial projects.
The design team also undertake the challenge of living on-site, within the woodland, and
continuing to build and improve their own living accommodation – a project started with the original design team.
The internship provides a range of challenges and experiences which cannot be matched for graduate students. The position has grown in renown and is continually sought after. The working concept proves the value of practical experience and drives a young, passionate working environment which strives to achieve the very best in sustainable design.
